Jazz Up Your Blues Licks

In this lesson, we are going to practice improvisation together using scales in the following order on the Fm Gm Abmaj7 vamp. 1. F minor pentatonic scale with blue note 2. Add9 (G) 3. Add13 (G and D) = F Dorian 4. Add major 3rd approach note 5. Use b6 instead of natural 6 (Db instead of D) Further more, we can add chromatic note from half step below for all the scale note anytime, occasionally I like to play chromatic note from half step above as well. One advice is that those "blue note" or approach note can be played very subtle way, such as playing them as a starting point for the slide, triplets, or 16th notes passage. I encourage to play a call and response with this video to get ideas of how to add colors, I will make some tabs for phrases I was playing here.
