This is the beginning part again, and I really liked the idea of Bbmaj7 on Am7 D7 for this song.
Here's what's happening:
1. C7 alrered scale with one chromatic note B natural on C7 at the end of the song coming back to the top
2. Faking the melody with bluesy phrasing
3. Gm7 scale to Bbmaj7 on Am7 D7 part, it's anticipating Gm harmony. Stuff like this sometimes works on particular chord changes or songs, not sure if it's an universal approach but worth trying other songs as well.
